Searchee FAQ
What is Searchee?
Searchee is an AI-powered privacy search engine built by Unimelabs. It lets you search the web, get AI-enhanced answers, and access programmatic search APIs — without any tracking or personal data collection.
Searchee aggregates results from multiple web sources and layers an AI assistant on top, letting you search normally or have a full conversation in the Ask tab.
What makes Searchee private?
Searchee processes zero personal data during normal web search use. We do not build user profiles, sell data, or use surveillance-style tracking. Only minimal technical metadata needed for performance and abuse prevention is processed.
See the full Privacy Policy for details.
How does Searchee’s AI search work?
Searchee combines metasearch across multiple web sources with an AI assistant (Ask tab) that can answer questions conversationally and with context. The AI pipeline is built on open-source foundations maintained by Unimelabs, with no data retention or external model logging.
Is Searchee free to use?
Yes. Basic web privacy search is free with no account required. A Premium plan ($24/year) removes ads and unlocks expanded AI features. Developer API plans start at $9/month.
See Pricing for a full breakdown.
Who built Searchee?
Searchee is built by Unimelabs, a Singapore-based private limited company with a mission to build AI technologies that are safe, privacy-respecting, and productive.
Does Searchee store my search history?
No. Searchee does not store search queries or link them to any user identity. Registered account holders have session and billing data retained only as required for service operation — never search history.
Can I use Searchee for my application or AI agent?
Yes. Searchee provides a programmatic search API for developers and AI agents with JSON and CSV output, web crawling tools, and tiered plans (Pro, Max, Enterprise) sized for different usage volumes.
See the Programmatic API page to get started.
How does Searchee handle my location?
When location-based results are enabled, Searchee derives a country code from your IP address using an external GeoIP provider to improve local search relevance. Only country-level data is used — never your precise location or raw IP address.
Is Searchee open source?
Searchee is built on open-source foundations (seeded from SearXNG) and maintains an open-source AI agent stack. The branded product, infrastructure, and hosted services are proprietary.
What search categories does Searchee support?
Searchee supports web information, media (images, video, news, social), places (map), business, and shopping search. Categories can be selected directly from the search interface.
